Halim started coaching swimming in 1999. Over the years, he worked with children, adults, and athletes, but he wanted to help people beyond one sport. In 2006, he came across Pilates, a discipline focused on control, awareness, and precision, which naturally complemented his background in sports and movement education.
Pilates didn’t replace that foundational concept; instead, it evolved into a broader understanding of human movement.
He established PPS Istanbul Pilates Studio before moving to the UK in 2020. In London, he primarily taught in South West London at locations like Yogahaven, Studio 17, 50 Hill Rise, Cat on the Mat, and Mindful Pilates, while also offering private sessions.
Today, Halim brings his extensive experience to his own studio, Motion Craft Pilates Studio, where each class and session reflects over 25+ years of teaching people how to move.
Movement has shaped Halim’s life since he was six. Born in Izmir, Turkey, in 1977, Halim began competitive swimming as a child. Since then, sport, movement, and performance have remained central to his life.Â
He completed his studies in Physical Education and Sports Teaching at Ege University in 2001, focusing on swimming. His graduation thesis examined motor movement education for autistic children, foreshadowing his lifelong dedication to helping all types of bodies learn to move effectively.
